Focus: Functional Training for Daily Living, Joint Mobility/Stability, Muscular Imbalances, Post-Rehab, Postural Assessment & Corrections, Balance and Stretching and a variety of conditions such as Arthritis, Osteoporosis, Fibromyalgia and Cancer. Water or land training available.
Bio: Jo-Anne spent 20 years working in EMS and teaching First Aid/CPR for Red Cross, in 2013 she was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. When she was finally cancer free her journey to wellness began. With the support of the Instructors here at SLS Family Sports Centre she discovered that her passion to help people could be used in the fitness industry and after completing many certifications she found her niche in Functional Training.
Cool Fact: She loves Boxing and Kayaking.
About the class
Whether you are 50 or 80 this training is for you. Over the course of our lives, it is easy to develop improper and unsafe movement patterns that do not serve us well into our senior years. Whether you are healthy and want to prevent problems or have a chronic condition such as arthritis, osteoporosis, or post rehab joint issues, this class will accommodate your needs and give you the foundation to move safely in your other classes and daily activities. This class will focus on Joint Stability, Functional Movements, Range of Motion, Posture, Balance and Coordination. – All levels welcome- great entry level class - also great if you need to work on your mobility
